ICE raw sugar futures were steady in early trade on this Friday, supported by concerns over a possible delay in the centre-south Brazilian harvest.
SUGAR
* The new front-month contract, May raw sugar on ICE was unchanged at 24.85 cents a lb at 0936 GMT.
* The sugar market took in its stride news of the delivery of about 880,000 tonnes of raw sugar to sole receiver Cargill .
* Brokers said the presence of a major receiver should be supportive for sugar futures.
* London May white sugar futures rose $4.20 or 0.7 percent to $650.20 per tonne.
* Brazil's 2012/13 (April-March) center-south cane crushing season will start about 10 days later on average than last year's harvest began, the cane industry association Unica said on Wednesday.
